I Have a New Phone and Authenticator is not Working
When you get a new phone, your MS Authenticator app may be transferred to your new phone, but Microsoft will not recognize the new phone, even if you did not change numbers. MS security settings verify not only the number, but also the device when you authenticate. Here are the steps to use your new phone for authentication:
- Log into the Microsoft MFA setup page by clicking on the following link and putting in your normal @psav.com ID and password (Your SSO account):
https://aka.ms/mfasetup
- After the password is entered, you will be prompted to authenticate - click on the link "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now":
- Everyone should have set up at least two methods of authentication - select one that does NOT involve the authenticator app. If you do not see any alternate methods, please submit a ticket in Freshservice to have someone assist you (https://freshservice.encoreglobal.com/):
- After authenticating, you will be brought to your account Security page. You will need to perform the following steps:
- Delete the old Authenticator entry.
- Add a new sign in method - choose the authenticator app from the drop-down list. It will guide you through a series of steps to register your device:
- Once you have set up your phone, you will need to change your default method by clicking on the link and choose the App based notification and follow any prompts or instructions:
- You are all done! You can test it out by logging into the Encore site on a different browser (so it will not use any cookies in your current browser - it's like starting a fresh session). If you continue to have issues, please submit a Freshservice ticket for assistance - https://freshservice.encoreglobal.com/
